Spiritual Self Care
Online Retreat
Dear Friends,
Thank you for participating in this online retreat. We hope you all found some benefit from the material shared. Do take time to rest and allow some space in the coming days to process the retreat as best you can.
We will be keeping the YouTube video links available for a few days so those of you that need to can catch up. We ask and trust that no one will try to download or record any of the material, as this would violate the integrity of the transmissions shared with you.
Burgs offers these teachings on dana ( donation ). This is in keeping with the traditional way that the Buddha’s teachings have been shared over the past twenty-six centuries.
So we invite you to support Burgs, so that he may continue to share these teachings with others. It is through the generosity of those who came before you and sat with Burgs in the past, that has enabled you to receive the teachings this weekend. And so it will be that your generosity now will enable others to receive these precious teachings in the future.
When making merit, the Buddha spoke thus -
“When contemplating the act of making merit, delight in it.
During the process of making merit, delight in it.
And having made merit, upon reflection, delight in it.”
Giving this dana, making merit, is not about simply giving money. It is about keeping your heart open and bright. So when you make this donation, do so with an open heart and delight in this giving. Take some moments to reflect on what you have learned, how this practice has helped you see things in your life a little more clearly, how these teachings have helped you let go of something in your life that you have grappled with for some time.
Delight in giving what it is within your means to give, whatever that might be. It is the delight in giving that develops our paramis of Generosity.
